I have been dreadfully slack about participating in these, but a new release usually spurs me into action.
So here is a brand new Sunday Snog from Destiny & Dragons. Not my hottest kiss, but I hope the excerpt makes up for that in length. It is a little longer than the kisses I usually post.
Runt raised his fingers to his lips. “Why did you do that?”
“To show you what a kiss is.”
Runt snorted and rolled onto his back.
“What’s the matter?” Marcus asked.
“I know what a kiss is, and that was a poor example.”
Marcus squashed the flare of jealousy. Runt hadn’t kissed anyone before, he was sure. Maybe he had seen lovers exchange kisses from his prison.
“The witch used to lure men to her,” Runt said. “I would watch them from the window. She didn’t let them into the building in case they discovered her true nature. She just let the heroes inside and only because she knew they would never be allowed to leave again.”
“Then you know what lovers do together,” Marcus said. “Why did you ask if you already knew?”
“I know what the witch did with the men, and I don’t think love had anything to do with it.”
“I remember seeing my parents kiss sometimes.”
“Well, that’s what lovers do.”
“And your mother thought you wanted to do such things with me.”
It wasn’t a question, but Marcus answered it anyway. “Yes.” As soon as he spoke the word, he realised he wasn’t just responding to Runt’s comments. The idea of having Runt as his lover was deliciously tantalising.
He faced the man beside him again and saw that Runt had closed his eyes. Marcus kissed him again, this time putting in far more effort than the first time.
Runt opened his eyes and stared up at him. Marcus cupped his jaw and eased Runt’s lips apart with his tongue. The dragon sighed beneath him, before kissing him back with feverish excitement.
Belatedly, Marcus remembered they had both undressed before climbing into bed, and only the thin sheet separated their bodies. He wanted to know if Runt was as aroused by their kiss as himself, yet he didn’t dare reach down and find out for himself.
When they finally parted, Marcus stared down at Runt, who gazed up at him with wide-eyed wonder.
“Better?” Marcus whispered.
Runt nodded. “Yes. Can we do it again?”
The answer to his question is…. nah, you’ll have to buy the book to find out. 😛
